This bird is a descendant of the rock dove and are at home roosting and nesting in or on buildings.

Pigeons breed throughout the year producing 2 white eggs at a time. Incubation is approximately 19 day and are fed by parents proteinaceous pigeon milk.

After around 40 days old the young pigeon are independent and can fly.

Sexual maturity is around 6 months old.
