Feral Pigeon; (Columbia livia)

This bird is a descendant of the rock dove and are at home roosting and nesting in or on buildings.

​

  • Pigeons breed throughout the year producing 2 white eggs at a time. Incubation is approximately 19 day and are fed by parents proteinaceous pigeon milk.

  • After around 40 days old the young pigeon are independent and can fly.

  • Sexual maturity is around 6 months old.
